Steps:

1. Prepare the Vinegar Solution:

   • Mix equal parts of distilled white vinegar and water in a microwave-safe bowl or glass measuring cup. A half cup of each is a good starting point, but you can adjust based on your needs.

2. Microwave the Vinegar Solution:

   • Place the bowl or cup with the vinegar-water mixture inside the microwave.

3. Heat the Vinegar Solution:

   • Set the microwave to high power and heat the mixture for about 2-3 minutes until it begins to boil. The steam generated will help loosen the grime and stains inside the microwave.

4. Let It Sit:

   • Leave the microwave door closed for at least 5-10 minutes after heating. This allows the steam to work on the stains and make them easier to clean.

5. Wipe Down the Interior:

   • After waiting, open the microwave door carefully as it may release a burst of steam. Use a microwave-safe sponge or cloth dampened with the vinegar solution to wipe down the interior surfaces.
   • Pay extra attention to any stubborn spots or stains. You can use a toothpick or wooden skewer to gently scrape away dried-on food particles.

6. Remove the Turntable and Clean It:

   • If your microwave has a removable turntable, take it out and wash it separately with warm, soapy water. Rinse it thoroughly and dry it before placing it back in the microwave.

7. Clean the Exterior:

   • Don’t forget to wipe down the exterior of the microwave, including the control panel and keypad, with a damp cloth or sponge. Use a mild dish soap if necessary, but avoid getting water into the electronic components.

8. Rinse and Dry:

   • Use a clean, damp cloth to wipe down the interior and exterior again, this time with plain water, to remove any lingering vinegar residue.

9. Replace the Turntable:

   • Put the clean turntable back into the microwave.

10. Freshen the Odor:

    • If your microwave has unpleasant odors, you can place a bowl of baking soda inside it for a few hours to absorb odors. Remove the baking soda afterward.
